In Her Honor

My mom, who died last summer, was very active in local volunteer work. She gave many years of service to her local hospital, helping patients with their menus, working in the office, and offering many other types of help.
Mom also belonged to a women's community group which works to raise money for local charities and scholarships for high school students. She worked every week at the group's thrift shop, making many friends along the way with her great sense of humor.
Today, this group dedicated a beautiful bench at the entrance of the town's senior center to my mom. The bench is situated in front of a gorgeous flower garden. It was such a lovely tribute to her, and my heart just swelled with love and pride.
When she was in her 80's, Mom spent many hours crocheting squares which later would be sewn together as lap afghans for nursing homes. I got a kick out of it when she would say, "These are for the OLD people!"

Love you, Mom.

Hello Judy!

My goodness what a beautiful dedication to your dear sweet Mother, and what a wonderful Mother indeed! You have a reason to be proud, you most certainly do! I remember my Mother often saying...A good name is worth far more than silver and gold, and I believe she is right. Your sweet Mom will always be in the heart of so many who were blessed to know her...how wonderful that is! Beautiful post Judy.

By the way, your tablescape in your previous post is outstanding! You work pure magic with those small pieces of paper...so pretty!:o) You have a wonderful week....

Judy, I don't know how you found my little corner of cyber space, but I am so glad you did! I am most intrigued by your unique artwork. I love your little tablescapes and the ladies you gave away on your 100th post celebration. Marking this as a favorite so I can see more of this amazing work!

What a lovely tribute...I love the quote about "this is for the OLD people" *grin*

Oh, Judy, this is wonderful. I'm afraid that I would have balled my eyes out when I laid eyes on this beautiful tribute. It sounds like your mother left a wonderful legacy!

Thanks for coming by. Your comments mean a great deal. I have a lot of catching up to do. I'm not completely done with my tasks, but the major studio work has been carved out.

Thanks, also, for the good word on my blog. I am liking it more and more. My brain is buzzing about a fall motif. Now I have one more creative tool to swallow up the hours. LOL!

I did get a comment on html code. She is making it seem rather complex, but I would like to learn. I will definitely pass on the info once I get a grip on it.

Love, hugs, and mush,
KJ

After quite a long time of playing with code and having some misinformation, I finally figured out how to insert a custom background. If you have a moment, let me know what you think. The site I got this from offers all kids of these backgrounds free.

I am glad your mother was honored, giving is the most honorable thing a person can do in their life time.
