Happy, Happy Mother's Day!

Wishing all the mothers who read this the happiest of  days!
I have a lot to celebrate  -
being mom to a wonderful daughter,
the memory of my own lovely Mom,

My Mom with baby Kate, 30 years ago.
(The afghan, the white baby blanket, the baby sweater and the needlepoint pillow were made by Mom.)

and the knowledge that being a mother
is one of the most important jobs on earth.

May your day be joyful and your heart be full.
Happy Mother's Day!

My son Phillip was born on Mothers Day in 1978. This year he surprised me and drove out to the farm Friday afternoon. Earlier Friday morning Anne had returned to the farm after a 3 week visit to Ohio. Having them both here was the loveliest gift they could have given me.
Though Jerome teases that parenthood is a life sentence, we both feel blessed to be the parents of our two beautiful children. My wish for all mothers today is that each one of you can feel the same deep joy. I'm delighted, Judy, that you obviously do.
