A Beautiful Day

Saturday was a gorgeous, sunny day, and my husband and I went to a sheep
shearing festival at the Gore Estate in Waltham, Massachusetts.

On the grounds stands a federal period historic mansion, in front of which
"Col. Bailey's Regiment" assembled,

with the ladies looking on.

We really enjoyed the beautiful animals

a border collie herding demonstration,

beautiful wools and wool roving for sale,

my own personal splurge on wool roving,

spinning demonstrations,

morris dancers,

and a wonderful craft fair!

Somehow, we were never in the right place at the right time
to see any actual sheep shearing!
But we walked, ate, toured the mansion and thoroughly enjoyed the day!

Hope your week is off to a great start!!

Thanks for stopping by!

So delightful to visit the festival via your post, Judy. Nice to hear that you and Bill spent what looks like a gorgeous day having a lovely time. I do love going to living history events. I'm eager to see what becomes of your little handful of wool...

Oh Judy,
When I just saw that you were at the Gore Estate on Sat. I felt astonished!
My sister and her family were also there! She just sent me some photos,
to think you might have seen each other without knowing the connection!
It looks like it was a beautiful day and event!

looks as if it'd be a relief
to have his afro sheared:)
I adore sheep dog trials
....those pups make me wish I
could run alongside of them
like the wind!
luscious day....thanks for sharing:)
