Two adult turkeys and ten young ones, walking casually across the grass.
They ducked under the hedge, into the neighbor's yard,
and out into the street. By now I'm outside following them (from a safe distance).
This went on for a while, until I started to feel like a stalker, so I went back inside.
Rosie and Angus had a perfect view!!
We really never know what each new day will bring, do we?
Hope you're having a good week!
I just love surprises like that. We had some raccoons in the yard a couple of weeks ago; just sauntering across the lawn.
ReplyDeleteWe used to feed wild turkeys in the winter. THey got so they would peck on the window if we were too slow in putting out the sunflower seeds.
ReplyDeleteWe saw one try to fly downhill, miss his landing and turn head over heels. They are strange birds...
I have never heard of such a thing!!! Maybe they are making a run for it before Thanksgiving!!! x
ReplyDeletewhat a great start to the day.
ReplyDeleteLooks like they've done very well, to still have 10 babies at this stage! My parents used to live in suburban New Jersey and one year wild turkeys showed up in their yard...they were astonished! They read later in the local paper that the mailman several blocks away was accosted and harassed by turkeys...probably the same flock.
ReplyDeleteThe kitties look shocked!
