This fused fabric picture was sitting unfinished on my ironing board. I used some semi-sheer dress fabric for the leaves and flowers, a cotton batik for the vase, and hand embroidered the flower stamens.
The finished size is about 3 1/2" x 5 1/2".
It feels so good to finish up some of the UFOs around my house - more to come!!
Hope everyone has a fabulous day!!
I love EVERYTHING about this...how did you do it? Is it heat fused or done with a needle?
ReplyDeleteOH, I want to do it...you got to tell me...Wwow, Wwow, wow!!!!

Very pretty! I love variety of colors on the leaves and flowers - really shows depth!
ReplyDeletevery autumnal!
ReplyDeletevery nice. i like the printed background. it really sets off the flowers and vase.
ReplyDelete3x5"! Really?! I had no idea it was so small! That makes the detail even more extraordinary.
ReplyDeleteGood for you in finishing up some of your TBD pile.
Beautiful work. Do you use the small ones you make on special cards, or do you frame them?
ReplyDeleteStay inspired!
That is amazing detail on such a small work and it is a great finished piece... all the unfinished work can get you down at times and it is such a relief to get some out of the way!!!
ReplyDeleteI'm really delighted with such nice comments. Thanks so much! Gwen, I'll do a little explanation of how I went about this in my post tomorrow. Michelle, I used to make these small still lifes for 5" x 7" cards. I would mount the picture on colored cardstock, leaving about a 1/4" border, then affix it to a Strathmore watercolor card.
ReplyDeleteThanks everyone!
