The snow! How silently it falls,
A lacy curtain for the walls
and windows of the winter sky.
See how it drifts for hours and hours
And blankets all the beds where flow'rs
In slumber lie.
And trees, with outstretched arms embrace
The lovely, fragile, folds of lace
That downward fly.
To watch this white tranquility,
Another person could not be
As glad as I.
Written when I was very young - probably when studying the Romantic Poets!
Hope you're having a wonderful weekend!
Beautiful.
ReplyDeleteOh, that is so beautiful!
ReplyDeleteJust got in from shoveling...I think we got around 14 inches of snow.
What about you?
It was a beautifully snowy day yesterday. Even going out to food shop, didn't damper my enthusiasm for it. I also like your sweet poem, too.
ReplyDeleteJudy,
ReplyDeleteWhat beautiful words and stitchery. You are a very talented lady.
