I'd love to try dolls, scarves, paper ornaments, etc, but never seem to get to them, although I could make the time if I wanted to. I really admire people like Terri and Gayle (and others) who continually produce new work and, in Terri's case, even write books!
I need to step out and take a chance, and heed this quote by Salvatore Dali:
"Have no fear of perfection-
you'll never reach it."
Does anyone else have this problem?
Hope everyone has had a good weekend!
Warmly,
Judy
I can understand your fears Judy! Just be brave and push past them and don't worry if something doesn't turn out right. You can't fail if you try!
ReplyDeleteYou need to give your muse a chance...just play, instead of thinking of it as serious "making art." Those are really nice sketches!
ReplyDeleteAll I can say is that do whatever it is that you want to do today. You may not be able to do it tomorrow. Sometimes too if you do it with a buddy it is easier to get started:)
ReplyDeleteWise words, ladies!
ReplyDeleteI get in these slumps sometimes, but how right you are - be playful, be inspired, push through fears!!
Love your comments!
I'm off to work in my studio!
The comments of everyone are so helpful for me, too! Thanks!
ReplyDeleteHello Dear Judy,
ReplyDeleteOh yes I have been there.:o) I am learning to simply have fun!:o) As of late I have been trying new things, some short lived others I will continue to do but I am really enjoying myself!:o) By the way, fiber/fabric jewelry sounds beautiful!!:o) Enjoy a lovely week my friend.
Smiles...
Beverly

ReplyDeleteJust play and enjoy...
Lovely words from Susan Lewis Storey...
ReplyDelete"I rarely create with any attachment to an outcome; therefore I am free to explore my own creative boundaries and see where the work wants to carry me."
Just let go, Judy, and play!
I'm really blown away by these comments!
ReplyDeleteHope other people are getting as much out of them as I am.
Thank you everyone!
Hi Judy- I completely get that!I am trying to take a risk every day with my art business. Today is day one- I'll let you know how it goes. Haha. Love your sketches!
ReplyDeleteI think it is better to try and 'fail' then never to have started at all!!! If you want to strive for perfection then you must practise, practise practise!!!x
