Last night I took a class in making a paper rose wreath at the wonderful Silver Clay Gifts.
The class was taught by AnnMarie Gallivan, who makes all sorts of beautiful things with paper.
I was there with my friend Barbara and only one other student, so we had individualized attention!
AnnMarie had these scalloped spirals all cut out for us. We started rolling the spiral from the long end around a thin wooden stick, loosened the roll a bit and hot glued the rose at the bottom.
Here's Angus today investigating one of my leftover roses.
We arranged the roses and some precut leaves on a cardboard base and hot glued them down.
Here's the back view, shown with the hanging ribbon.
All in all, it was easy and a lot of fun - we had a great time.
Today it has been snowing steadily and we've accumulated about 10 inches.
I just shoveled part of the driveway and am about to crash - I know Bill will do the rest with the snow blower when he gets home from work. I'm starting to wonder whether winter will ever end!!
Hope you're having a great day!

Looks like great fun and beautiful results. Who wouldn't be cheered by a wreath of red roses??
Repeat after me: Spring is coming, spring is coming, spring is coming.
Time change this weekend. Yes! I look forward to eating dinner without having all the lights on. And in less than two weeks the days will be longer than the nights for 6 months glorious months.
I love the white paws on Angus. He is so handsome.
And your wreath turned out quite nicely!
Our Stewart landed safely at Logan just a little while ago. He has come to the East Coast to visit Lindsey, see the sights in Boston and to have a bit of time with my Mumsie. I am so glad his plans were not foiled by the storm!
We continue to put all of our energy into R&R! And we look forward to spring too, Judy! xo
What beautiful wreaths you and Barbara made. Great color against the white of snow. Brrrr. Spring WILL come! Nice to see your blog, Judy!

We have more snow on the way here too Judy! Your rose wreaths look beautiful. I have a few kits like that to make up and you have inspired me to open them! My Birthday is in two weeks time so Spring will officially start then!!! x
What a lovely wreath! I can imagine it in other colors, with patterned paper or out of fabric... lots of options and possibilities. Thanks for the inspiration!
Somehow we were missed in the snow and I certainly don't mind. I am totally ready for spring!
Oh, and your Christmas cactus looks beautiful. :)
