How Cute is This?

Like most cats, Kristy loves to find little spaces to hang out in. Lately she's been loving this crevice between the two square tables that serve as a coffee table in our living room. She had just finished washing herself and was putting her paw down when I snapped this. I think she looks like she is practicing a dance from "A Chorus Line"!
Although she looks like a kitten, Kristy is actually 15 or 16 years old. We didn't know her exact age when we adopted her from a shelter, but she has always been a very little cat (6 lbs as I write this).
Sadly, her age is catching up with her and her kidney function is going down and she has a serious heart murmur. We'll be taking her for some xrays soon, but we know she won't live forever. Meanwhile, we give her all the lap time, pats and attention we can.  She still seems to have a good appetite and good energy.
She's our little sweetie!

Kristy's take on having been shut out of the guest room while we had visitors recently!!!

From my last blog post, I can see that just about everyone has times when they are 'stuck' creatively! I appreciate all the input and ideas as to how to let go and just play with materials and be creative.

Above is a little sneak peek at what I am working on currently. Unfortunately, my leg is acting up again and I must keep it elevated, so that limits the amount of time I can spend in the studio. But I do sneak in there a few times a day for a few minutes to do a tiny bit.

Hope everyone is having a great week. We are having gorgeous weather here in New England and I am thoroughly enjoying it on my porch!

Where's the Sun?

Kristy has had it with the rain,

which seems endless. 

Her solution? Curl up and sleep!

Bill and I are having a

"staycation"

this week,

finishing up projects around the house:

sanding, staining, scraping, 

caulking, cleaning,

painting!

Meanwhile, little fabric art going on here!

Sunday Kitty

A pleasant Sunday.

Bill and I went to brunch, 

did some gardening,

attempted to tame our wild hedge of forsythia.

Kristy did her kitty duty,

found the brightest spot of sunshine in the house,

settled in,

and became the picture

of absolute 

relaxation.

An Excerpt From Kristy's Diary

It's a raw, rainy day and I have settled down for a nap

I hear the click of a shutter. It wakes me up and I get started on my bath.

I look up and see that she is still there, clicking away.

I say, in my droll way,

"Excuuuse me -
May I have some privacy, please?"

It is so difficult, living with humans!
