Work in Progress

I've been working on this new piece, a combination of applique and machine embroidery. The violets are cut from handpainted fabric, as well as some of the leaves. The underlying leaves are outlined with stitches and 'painted' with watercolor colored pencils.
I have more details to add. Hope to have it finished by Friday!

Very wet and soggy here!!
Looking forward to seeing sun again before the end of June!!

Have a great week!

Good concept and results. I have tried the watercolor pencils as well and like what they do. I have difficulty being too precise though and the color does bleed. I have colored the shapes on whole fabric before and then cut to avoid this. You got great results though and must have a steady hand:)

Feel free to use the image of my geraniums-I would be honoured!
PS is this a record to have three comments from one person in answer to a post?

Wow, this is beautiful! I did a close up look and just LOVE the blending of the colors!

I'm a bit shy with paints, but do try to include it in my stitching when I get tired of black and white!

Happy creating!
