First Bloom

Today I noticed the first bloom on my mom's Christmas cactus. This is the third time it has bloomed since she passed away and it makes me think of how wonderful she was with plants and all kinds of needlework. This photo was taken when she was twenty-one and she made the yellow sweater she was wearing. The only thing missing is her warm smile which remains a lovely memory.

Photographs are lovely but they stay more alive in our memories.

It is always nice to have something tangible which helps you remember someone.

It is hard to believe that our mothers were ever that young. Thanks for the thought this morning.

Lovely nostalgic photograph. I bet your mum would be smiling now at the Chistmas cactus in bloom. x

Thank you, my friends, for your comments.
Sometimes I just feel the need to post about personal things, and it feels so good to have my thoughts acknowledged by such wonderful ladies. :-)
