Saturday was a beautiful day for the our town's last farmers market of the season.
It was also a day when local painters set up their easels in the park by the lake and had a "paint out".
My friend Pam, a wonderful artist, was one of the organizers and painters in the event.
As I walked along the lake, it was easy to spot most of the artists because of the red balloons tied to their easels. It was a pleasure to watch them paint, ask questions and find out more about each one.
Paintings by various artists were also displayed in shop windows along Main Street.
We're so fortunate to have such a lovely park by the lake in our town,
and it was great to see our talented local artists at work!
The committee who arranged this event did a wonderful job bringing attention
to the arts in our community.
It was a beautiful morning!

I sometimes pop over to Pam's blog. She does such beautiful work. Looks like the perfect day for shopping the farmer's market and browsing the easels!
what a great spot for a saturday market. we hit the local market saturday also, always lots of fresh produce to bring home. the flowers are what really caught my eye, the dahlias were amazing, all the different bold colors. it was hard to resist but we weren't headed right home after. next time.
Sounds like a marvelous weekend :).
Stay inspired!
Michelle
Isn't it amazing and comforting at the same time, to realize there are so many talented people who love their work living in your community? It is the same here in the driftless region of Wisconsin and all along the Mississippi. Such a good thing. And I'm glad you had such good weather to be out enjoying it all. Hope Bill was able to be at your side to complete the joy.
Thank you, Karen, Cynthia and Michelle - it was such a nice time! Unfortunately, Sharon, Bill was at home putting sealer on the driveway while I was at the market, but we did get out in the sunshine together later in the day!
Hi Judy!
I am finally taking some time to catch up on blogs and so many emails. WHERE have I been? (you know!) What great Paint Out pictures. You captured the gorgeous day.
Hope to see you soon!
