When I was about 12, I remember having this yellow gingham
dress, which I wore to church, with white "pumps",
white clutch purse, white gloves, and a hat.
It was nice to dress up on Sundays.
I always think it's too bad that everything is so casual now.

Oh yes, I remember those Sunday morning outfits and have some favorites of my own! I do sometimes wish we didn't have casual all the time.

I remember, too, wearing special dresses that my mother made
and always the frilly socks
and shiny shoes that click clicked
when I walked down the sidewalk.
(i loved that part best)
